The young man struggled up from his knees and went out to work again.  He had been wrestling in prayer night after night and in all his spare time.  He hadn't eaten for days.
"God, please, I KNOW You want me to know You better," he prayed. "Please get me a Bible."
Night after night he prayed, day after day.
"You're going crazy!"
"You have to eat something!"
The young man's parents pleaded.  Their hearts were weighed down with concern for their son.
One night, the young man had a strange dream, the first of many prophetic dreams.
"I am bringing you bread," the man in white told the hungry young prayer warrior, reaching into a bag.  Out of the bag came no human loaf of bread.  It was a Bible.
"God is going to send me a Bible!" the young man told himself eagerly next morning.
Sure enough, a little later there was a knock on the door.  Two men stood there, waiting as the young man opened up.
"We were ordered to give this to you," they told him.  The man in white held out  his hand--and in it lay a Bible, the same as the one in the dream.  After delivering the Bible, the men left, never to be seen again.
The young man read his Bible dilligently every day with a passion.  He memorized whole chapters--he needed to soak his soul in the life-giving Word.  He loved his Bible and never ceased to thank God for sending it.  This young man went on to become one of the most active pastors in China--and also one of the most persecuted.  When in prison, when beaten and tortured and mocked, he would remember the Bible he had hidden at  home, remember its precious words to him, and he would be comforted and strengthened.  The Bible was a priceless gift.
You can read about Paster Yun in the book "The Heavenly Man." It is probably the best book I've ever read.  Just google it, and I assure you you'll find it!

Do you want to give the "Sword of the Spirit"?  I think many people in our nation don't understand the significance of the Bible as that Sword.  It is the one thing that can frighten just about any demon and calm any doubt.  As Christians, we should be supporting our fellow brothers and sisters with the weapons they need in their dark nations.  Visit www.BiblesUnbound.com to sign up and mail Bibles to believers in restricted nations.  In many countries people die for possessing a Bible, or they scrimp and save and endanger themselves to try to find one because they need one so badly.  Realize the power and the value of the book that people die for, and study yours with a passion.

>GREENSBORO --- A theological discussion about whether God preordained
>certain people to salvation drew thousands of attendees to two identical
>breakout sessions Monday during a conference that prec edes the Southern
>Baptist Convention.
>
>The issue is important to Baptists because it raises questions about the
>nature of evangelism --- the heart of their work.
>
>In general, Calvinists believe Jesus died for the elect, a select group.
>Armenians believe he died for everyone. Both strains --- and in more
>liberal and more conservative forms of each --- are traditions of
>Baptist history.
>
>"We would have these debates around our kitchen table," said Mary Scott,
>of Waverly Baptist Church in Waverly, Va., whose congregation has been

>Baptists are the only reformation group that begins with both Armenian
>and Calvinistic principles.

>
>That the session Monday during the Pastor's Conference even took place
>was notable --- as was the fact that two seminary presidents, friends
>with differing views, led the discussion.
>
>The issue affects the convention because a growing number of young
>ministers who are thoroughly Calvinist want Calvinistic theology to be
>the norm, Leonard said.
>
>Albert Mohler, president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary,
>the SBC's flagship school, is a Calvinist who believes God has always
>chosen those who will be saved, even before the birth of Jesus.
>
>"Reading the Scriptures we have to face squarely the fact that God is a

>Time.com as the "reigning intellectual of the evangelical movement" in
>the nation. "He chose Israel, he chose Jacob ... and he chooses sinners."
>
>Paige Patterson, president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary,
>represented those who could not fully agree with Calvinism.
>
>"I do happen to believe that God is sovereign enough that he can make a
>man totally free if he wishes to do so," said Patterson, who helped lead
>the successful takeover of the convention by conservatives in the 1970s.
>
>Churchgoers and pastors at the conference expressed similar ly diverse

>"There's not a master list that God dictated before the beginning of

>
>Bob Cleveland, a member of First Baptist Church of Pelham, Ala.,
>considers himself a Calvinist.
>
>"I said a long time ago, when it comes ... to Calvinism, or people who
>believe that way, it's like beer drinking in the Baptist church: There's
>a whole lot of it going on but nobody wanted to talk about it."
>
>Some in the audience considered the discussion too restrained.
>
>"I thought the debate was a little too collegial to be helpful," said
>Ken Massey, pastor at First Baptist Church in Greensboro, who also
>attended the first session.
>
>"I don't know, but I suspect that there is some significant division
>regarding Calvinism in the SBC. The turnout in two sessions is evidence
>of this."

This man, who has suffered so much for Christ, was finally released, as described on the VOM website April 14th, 2006! (www.persecution.com, www.prisoneralert.com) He has been beaten by the police at least three times, attacked by his cellmates at least eight times, and why?  He was put in prison under false charges of blaspheming the prophet Muhammed.  (He merely mentioned to his students, when they asked him, that yes, Muhammed did own a nine-year-old wife named Aisha, and he suggested they ask their mullahs (religious leaders) about her)  He was finally released!

"1. We have to confront a very serious situation in this coming week and it needs much wisdom and sensitivity yet fearlessness.
2. Tonight Friday I will teach on Kamata money lending in the Cakovec Fellowship.
3. Next  Wednesday one of our coworkers here will start a series on Grace in the Trnovec Fellowship, this will be the first time  that someone other than myself  will teach, we are trusting this will start a trend so that we can multiply.
4. Next Tuesday I will meet with a young Bayash man to start working on his joining us to translate sections of a lovely Bible commentary into Bayash.
5. Nancy has been working hard, too hard, on her Hungarian Bayash literacy primer for children and will finish the draft this week.
6. Tomorrow Saturday we will have the third meeting of our Varazdin Fellowship I will teach from the book of Ruth.
7. Nancy and I are going to start this weekend a more agressive project together to improve our health. "

Pray for the church in Pancchari, in Bangladesh.

First, for wisdom and peace.  There are FOUR religions all clashing in that area due to overcrowding and confused and mixed claims by the government.  First, the area was owned by one village of Buddhists and Christians, who were already in serious conflict.  Now, the Government sold part of the area to some Muslims and Hindus in the area, making an already bad conflict worse.  The land conflict leads some groups to look for scapegoats, and as the Christians don't believe in instigating violence, they are the easiest to attack.  With tribal conflicts and civil war erupting, the plot thickens, to the detriment of the Christians in the area no matter who wins.

Secondly, for the material means to survive.  The Buddhists have begun to boycott Christians so that no one trades with or lends to Christians.  In a rural area, the economically disadvantaged Christians cannot afford to buy their own tractors or other materials, and they have relied on generosity from their wealthier neighbors for a long time.  Now, they have serious added stress in their fight for survival.

Thirdly, for bravery.  May 27, 2006, they recieved death threats.  May 28, several men stormed the pastor's house and, when he wasn't there, returned on May 29 and threatened to slice his wife open with a sword. According to VOM contacts in Compass Direct, "Another church in nearby Choungrachari Mukh Nikonja Karbaripara was attacked on June 3; Buddhist leaders supervised the beating of two Christians, Gyan Ratan and Ananda Joy. A third Christian, Kripa Ranjan, began crying and escaped the beating. The Christians were each asked to pay a fine of 5,000 taka (US$71) and return to Buddhism before June 10 or the small Christian community in the village would be uprooted.   The Christians paid the fine and were allowed to remain in the village without abandoning their faith, but they live in fear of another attack.   Christian sources in the capital, Dhaka, said the tension was at least partly due to Buddhist leaders losing temple fees from villagers who converted to Christianity."

Please pray!
